Jay Beeber is the Executive Director of Safer Streets L.A., a public policy and research organization dedicated to the adoption of scientifically sound and sensible traffic and transportation practices. Jay promotes science-based solutions to motorist and pedestrian safety issues through the presentation of well researched and verifiable data to elected officials. Jay’s efforts lead to the elimination of red light cameras. He has authored numerous research reports on transportation and traffic safety issues. Jay has been instrumental in ensuring that government policies serve the people’s interests. Jay is now leading LA’s parking reform movement as co-chair of Mayor Garcetti’s Working Group on Parking Reform. Recently, Jay was instrumental in convincing Caltrans to change the protocols for traffic signal timing throughout California, improving intersection safety by reducing red light running.
The youngest of three children, Jay received a BS in Science from the University of Michigan. Jay is the VP and Land Use Committee Chair of the North Hills West Neighborhood Council. He lives in North Hills with his wife Heather and their rescue dog Tucker.
